WHAT IS VITAMIN D GOOD FOR?
La vitamin D is the nutrient that experts recommend for staying healthy, for those who play sports and at all stages of life, from foetal development to old age. Vitamin D is particularly important in contributing to the regular absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, the assimilation of vitamin A, the maintenance of healthy bones and normal muscle function (promotes muscle contraction and trophism). In addition, vitamin D stimulates the immune system by decreasing the incidence of infections and certain auto-immune skin diseases, is a cardio-vascular protective factor and counteracts metabolic syndrome. With advancing age, the ability to produce vitamin D slows down.
